Museum Wins Gold at the South West Tourism Excellence Awards

Cornwall’s Visitor Attraction of the Year has been named the South West’s Large Attraction of the Year at the South West Tourism Excellence Award.
The awards ceremony, held at the Cadbury House Hotel and Spa in Somerset, celebrated the best in the South West and aims to promote and reward the very best in the tourism industry.
Museum Director Jonathan Griffin says: “After having our busiest summer ever I said that winning Gold at the Cornwall Tourism Awards was the icing on the cake, so this must be the cherry on top! Everyone at the Museum is so passionate and committed that it really is wonderful to see all our hard work being rewarded.”
Malcolm Bell, Chief Executive of South West Tourism, says: “The winners of this year’s South West Tourism Excellence Awards are truly deserving of this accolade. Not only have they ensured their physical product is of the highest standard, but in what is essentially a ‘people industry’ they have ensured that their customer service and staff training are exemplary. We wish the Gold winners the best of luck as they go on to represent the region at the national awards in 2009, which is an accolade that any business would be proud of winning.”
The Museum now goes on to represent the South West region at the national Enjoy England Awards for Excellence in April 2009.
