For the Museum, it is business as usual this summer. The Titanic: Honour and Glory exhibition has gone and the Cornwall and the Sea gallery has been reinstalled with a new focus on emigration featuring some of the Cornish stories from the Titanic exhibition.
On the water, there is a packed programme of events. This year’s Falmouth Week programme is looking great both shore-side and on the water. The week starts on 8th August with Falmouth Classics. There will be 150 classic yachts racing in Falmouth Bay and the Carrick Roads. The organising committee is expecting more entries for races this year with approximately 350 craft racing each day.
One of the highlights of the week will be the Red Arrows Air Display on Wednesday 12th which is sponsored by the Falmouth Harbour Commissioners. Events Square also has an action packed week of entertainment planned and the Museum will be providing a range of family activities including crabbing and Cornish Sea Creatures make and take sessions. The road through the town will be closed on 12th August allowing traders to extend their activity into the street.
Falmouth is definitely the place to be this summer so why not come and join us?
